What Storyline Review is

Storyline Review is a beta product that helps development teams review feature specs and code changes. It is operated by a single developer (Bjorn Nordlund) and provided as-is during the beta period.

Account and authentication

Storyline Review requires a GitHub account to sign in. We use GitHub OAuth to authenticate you and retrieve your email address. No GitHub password is stored or accessible to us. You must use the same email on your GitHub account as the one you sign up with.

What data we collect and store

When you use Storyline Review, we store the following in our database:

  • Your email address and user ID (from GitHub OAuth)
  • Feature specs and code diffs you submit for review
  • Review session data: questions, responses, discussion, and outcomes
  • Participant names and responses within review sessions

We do not collect or store your GitHub password, access tokens, or repository contents beyond what you explicitly submit for review.

Where your data is stored

All data is stored on servers located in Europe (EU region). Our database is hosted on Supabase with EU data residency. The web application is deployed on Vercel.

Data sent to OpenAI

When you create a review, your feature specs and code diffs are sent to OpenAI's API for analysis. This is how Storyline identifies the most important question for your team.

Regarding OpenAI's handling of your data:

  • OpenAI does not use API data to train their models
  • Data sent via the API is retained by OpenAI for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, then deleted
  • We use OpenAI's API, not ChatGPT — different data handling policies apply

Your rights

  • You can delete your review sessions at any time using the CLI or by contacting us
  • You can request full deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing bjornno@gmail.com
  • You can export your review data as markdown at any time

Rate limits

Beta users have a daily limit on the number of reviews they can create. This helps us manage costs and ensure fair usage during the beta period. If you need a higher limit, contact us.

Beta disclaimer

Storyline Review is in beta. The service may change, have downtime, or be discontinued. We make no guarantees about availability or data retention beyond our best effort. We recommend exporting reviews you want to keep.
